Which laptop you should buy:

 Hello flocks, I am Shreyas Waykar second year undergrad at NITK in Information Technology. I am glad that you have made to engineering. For your four year journey your most important collaborator will be your laptop. Picking up right laptop is very important. It should make sure that it wont make any hindrance in your learning.

First thing first; thumb rule is don't  invest too much money in phones. Rather use extra money for better laptop. 

What normal specs you will need in a laptop:
1)8 GB or more ram
2)Ryzen 5 or Intel core i5 or later version of both(Ryzen 5 is preferable)
3)512 GBSSD is preferable but you can go for 1 TB HDD.

Like such prices goes up as specs get better. Search for better laptops in HP if you have better budget.

Also HP gives you offer if you used your student email id. Same with apple.

If your budget goes up to 1 lakh get a MacBook Air M1 it would be best choice.

If you 80k-90k budget go for MacBook Air M1 basic version while use your student account.

Also don't go after i3 or ryzen 3 as they have trash performance. For ML, data science purposes go for HP ryzen 4600H or higher(range- 55k to 60k).

Also for ML and Data Science upgrade your laptop ram to 16 GB. For android development go for 12 GB+ ram. 

Above price ranges are according to 28/10/2021. Prices drops as version gets older. Keep looking for sales.
